Love’s Sanctuary

Until now I am still overwhelmed by my wonderful experience: A visit to the Sanctuary of Love.

It was February.

With a green light from the humble teacher, I stepped silently towards the reading chamber of his students.

Walking few steps from the door, the passionate voices of little angels filled my ears that made me melt like an ice cube submerged into a glass of water.

I felt myself catapulted into another dimension.

Suddenly I burst into tears! Oh, the sweet embrace, indescribable feeling!

I stared around the room curiously and caught them rocking their bodies while reading the Holy Qur’an. Like a meek lamb in front of these young lovers, I wanted to faint!

Tears continued leaking from my eyes. As I wiped them, I bumped into one believer whose teary eyes met mine. “I am touched Kah.” She uttered shyly and turned her back opposite to my direction.

I was filled with amazement that even a visitor’s arrival did not totally disrupt their concentration.

As I descended from “cloud nine”, I found myself speechless looking into the eyes of another lonely servant.

Thanks to the Most Generous One. Yes, the entrusted gift was shared! Indeed, we own nothing. Nothing! For we are but tray-bearers of the Most Bountiful One.

Now, was it all about pity? No.

Was it all about regrets? Not either.

But “How sad, a heart that does know how to love, that does not know what it is to be drunk with love. If you are not in love, how can you enjoy the blinding light of the sun, the soft light of the moon?” says Omar Khayyam.

Perhaps it was just all about Love that only the Beloved One knows.
