Oh, my soul!
when you wake up in the
morning as the brilliant shaft
of sunlight caresses your face;
when you travel
thousands of miles and
reach your destination safely;
when you endure great
pains and sorrows
of life;
when provisions knock on
your doors to relieve
you of starvation;
when you retire at
night after the
day’s work;
can you remain imperceptive
to the One who gives you
everything out of mercy?
